LOTR: The Rings Of Power Behind The Scenes

Another J.R.R. Tolkein story is set to hit screens. Well, the little screen. The Rings of Power is finally here to… mixed reactions. And the show isn’t even out yet! Did you hear how many injuries, and how much sweat and tears went into this project? Like, the three stunt people who seriously hurt themselves in the process. Amazon had to pay out a ton of money on that front. Yeah, we don’t think we’re selling the show very well… But the thoughtfulness that went into the costumes and the technology of Númenor! Did you know those boats are actually sailable? It would be a tricky sail but it’s possible! The height of the hobbits may have been altered digitally but the feet are all prosthetics. And while we are on the topic of scale, did you hear the actors had to go through scale academy because the heights of characters in this show are so all over the place? And as far as VFX go, the production company was bragging about how few digital effects they used but they used almost ten thousand. The orcs were mostly practically done, at least unless you look at the ones in the background. The queen’s armor was Cynthia Addai-Robinson’s favorite part of everything because she expected to be dolled up in dresses. Security was intense on this show. Finger scanning was used and everything! This is also Netflix - sorry - Amazon’s most expensive show to date (partially due to them beating out Netflix’s huge bid). And actors Benjamin Walker and Robert Armayo have more in common than you might think. Can you guess what connects them?
