• 1 of 4 factory cars built in 1959 for Formula 1 championship.
• The fourth and final DBR4 built, this car served as a spare throughout Aston Martin's Formula 1 efforts in 1959. Not raced by the works team, it was sold on to Australian Lex Davison. He raced the car very successfully in his native Australia and New Zealand.
• Known as a DBR4B (second evolution), this example was built to ultimate specification;De Dion rear, Maserati gearbox, 80 degree cylinder head and magnesium alloy blockRB6/300 engine specifications.
• In 1968, it was acquired by historic racer and collector Neil Corner, who repatriated the car and raced it with great success in historic events.
• Among the subsequent owners were Murray Smith, Alain de Cadenet, Peter Livanos and Tony Smith.

The 1959 Aston Martin DBR4/250 began as a factory test car and spare, later raced by Lex Davison in the early 1960s. Davison competed in multiple events, including the British Empire Trophy and Sandown races, before selling the car in 1963 to Pat Hawthorn, who raced it until 1966 in Australia.
In 1968, Neil Corner acquired the car anc dominated historic racing in the UK, winning 30 out of 34 races. After changing hands multiple times, including ownership by Alain de Cadenet and Peter Livanos, it was restored and raced extensively in historic events by Tony Smith in the 1990s and 2000s.
Belgian collector Hubert Fabri later owned the car, racing it at Goodwood Revival and other historic events before selling it to Marc Valvekens in 2014.
Valvekens continued competing in historic racing, with the car undergoing significant restoration and maintenance. It remains active in historic motorsport today.
