Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is a motion-based dark ride that takes guests through scenes from the Harry Potter series while seated on an enchanted bench. The ride is located in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter areas at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida; Universal City, California; Osaka, Japan; and Beijing, China.
The 4¼-minute ride includes moments from the first few books, such as: Flying over Hogwarts Castle, Dodging an attacking dragon, Interacting with the Whomping Willow, Being thrown into a Quidditch match, and Fighting Dementors in the Chamber of Secrets.
The ride combines physical sets with screen-based moments, and the movements of the ride vehicles are synchronized with the visuals to create a 360-degree experience. Some say the ride is like a more intense version of Disney's Soarin, while others mention that the motion might bother some people.
