GV H.M.S. submarine "Alaric" alongside dock. Angle shot, pan down conning tower of submarine. LV new tower at H.M.S. Dolphin, Gosport, & angle shot. Pan down tower. SCU man putting on immersion suit, & CU putting on nose clip. SV top of tank filled with water. SCU looking down into water, submarine's escape chamber is seen. SCU man's apparatus being inspected before he enters escape chamber. SV back view, man entering chamber. SV man adjusting cocks in submarine. SCU water tight door being closed onto escape chambers. SCU man floating to surface which he breaks. SCU control officers. SCU next man floating to surface which he breaks, & SV. Man lay on his back in immersion suit. SCU man floating in immersion suit. System is simple - when escape chamber is flooded, water pushes man (who previously breathed mixture of oxygen and and nitrogen) out, in an air bubble.
