Bandula Barb is a rare fish which lives only in a tiny brook in Galapitamada in the Warakapola electorate. Due to agro chemicals and unauthorized collection for fish tanks the fish population drastically dropped. With the help of Wildlife department and other foreign conservation groups the fish is now protected in its own natural environment.
