This mountain is really tough without items, way harder than Great Bulwark despite how much smaller it is... Not sure exactly how much time it took, around 8 hours I think which isn't that long, but like this game is super exhausting for me to play, it's the only game ever that makes my hands sweaty. Climbing this mountain has genuinely been one of the most uncomfortable experiences I've had with a game.
Almost each section of the mountain is tricky and took lots of practice to get consistent at, but I'd say the most time consuming and frustrating part was at 3:14 which caused me to lose so many runs, and it's very late into the climb. My initial strategy for it was to swing up directly from the crack, which seemed like a better way to do it but maybe it wasn't. This was the first attempt where I used the small hold on the left side and it felt maybe a little easier. Then directly after is 3:34 which took multiple failed attempts to figure out, like it's very easy to get pushed outwards by the slope and if that happens you're falling all the way down. And then 4:05 I also failed a couple times, it's so stressful to do. Luckily everything after that I did first try, which is why I start going so slow. At 5:00 I almost fell because I didn't realize those are 1 hand holds.
This is part of the paid expansion, and it's such a different feel from base game. Like for me the base game, while stressful, feels kinda relaxing at the same time, you just enter this flow when things are going well. But in the dlc, most of the climbs all I feel is stress, like so many uncomfortable jumps you have to do, and there's some new mechanics which I just don't feel confident interacting with. Though, this clearly is not balanced around playing without items (same is true for base game to lesser extent), so my experience would've been very different if I used at least the pipe or something, but this is how I choose to play. Despite how miserable I felt, this winning attempt was very satisfying to pull off. Not sure I'll do rest of the dlc if it's gonna be this hard, Solemn Tempest seems a lot more interesting to me since the difficulty is more about the length rather than individual jumps being hard.
