This panel, held as part of Mitvim’s 8th Annual Conference in November 2025 in partnership with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, explores Israel’s regional position after the Gaza war and the emerging opportunities — and risks — shaping the Middle East today. Speakers described an exceptionally fragile moment: declining perceptions of Israel, persistent instability, and growing tension between Israel’s force-based security approach and the diplomatic integration sought by Arab and Gulf states.
Despite these challenges, the discussion highlighted a rare opening for collective security, demonstrated by the coordinated regional response to Iran’s April 12 missile attack. Arab states emphasized key conditions for progress: full withdrawal from Gaza, a credible pathway toward a two-state solution, and a strengthened role for the Palestinian Authority.
Participants: Dr. Jawad Anani (Jordan), Mohamed Baharoon (UAE), Farah Bdour (Jordan), Dr. Aziz Alghashian (Saudi Arabia), Dr. Abderahman Salaheldin (Egypt).
Moderator: Dr. Roee Kibrik (Mitvim).
