Ultimately I wasn't fully sold on this one, but it's a great start to a game trying to emulate mario 64 but do its own thing. The issue for me, and this might be because I have been playing a lot of iron mario, is that the things it changed to try to do its own thing just feels off compared to mario 64. The tongue has potential, but its at the cost of the dive/punch which eliminates most of how you move quickly in mario 64, which just make this game feel slow even though most of the time you are going the same speed as mario.
I think it's worth keeping an eye on though.
