In Daniel 6:1–10, Daniel exemplifies integrity in a corrupt culture. He is given preference by King Darius for his exceptional character and spirit, distinguishing him above other officials (vv. 1–3). His rivals, jealous of his success, attempt to discredit him but find no fault—so they target his devotion to God, leading to persecution (vv. 4–5). Despite the threat of death, Daniel perseveres in faithfulness, continuing his regular practice of praying to God three times a day (v. 10). This passage highlights three marks of integrity: excellence in work, unwavering commitment to God, and courage to remain faithful under pressure. Daniel’s example challenges believers to stand firm in their faith even when laws or culture oppose it.
