People of faith are often surprised by the moral courage and kindness of their non-supernaturalist counterparts, but even when they recognize that we can be good without believing in God, they think those two things are merely coincidental. It never occurs to them that we might be as grounded as they are, with a commitment to loving relationships and social justice that flows directly from our conviction that this life is the only one we’ve got. In this talk, Bart Campolo will clarify that connection and tell stories aimed at inspiring his fellow secularists to make more meaning for themselves by making life better for everyone else.
BIO:
During his three decades of Christian ministry, Bart Campolo became increasingly committed to cultivating loving relationships, working for social justice and appreciating the wonders of life. Now, as a counselor, community-builder, and the volunteer Humanist Chaplain at the University of Southern California, Bart’s mission is to inspire and equip fellow non-believers all over the world who are banding together to actively pursue goodness in an openly secular way. His weekly podcast, Humanize Me, is an increasingly popular resource for secularists around the world who want to make the most of their lives.
