Tour of the Uruguay pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale

The Uruguay Pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale presents Eduardo Cardozo’s installation "Latent," which creates a dialogue between the artist and Venetian painter Tintoretto. The work consists of three key elements: a wall from Cardozo's studio transferred via the stacco technique, a reinterpretation of Tintoretto’s sketch for "Paradise," and a fabric veil made from gauze remnants used in the wall transfer. This immersive installation explores themes of time, decay, and the relationship between Uruguay and Italy through the visual reinterpretation of historical art.
