The Rocket ride at Dorney Park was a beloved attraction with roots tracing back to Harry Traver’s Circle Swing, installed at the park in 1906. Originally featuring wicker gondolas, the ride was later modernized by R.E. Chambers Engineering in the 1930s, replacing the gondolas with sleek, rocket-shaped cars. Positioned near the current site of the Scrambler, the Rocket thrilled generations of riders with its soaring, swinging motion above the park’s wooden deck. Though Carsonia Park’s Circle Swing closed in 1950, the Rocket at Dorney Park remained a cherished ride until its removal in the early 1990s. Its legacy lives on as a treasured part of Dorney Park history.
