for zoey, who played the beginner's guide for a group of us and changed my world as a result. never has a song seemed so simple on first listen and so complex after playing a video game. there is simply nothing i can say.

this is a cover of "turn back", the credits song for the beginner's guide, a game made by Davey Wreden. it was originally by Halina Heron and Ryan Roth along with Davey. if you've never heard of the game before, i cannot recommend it enough; even watching a playthrough is an incredibly powerful experience. there are links below to the musicians and to the game.

a stellar track to try to figure out the right tone for.
not sure if i even got the right meaning.
the mixing is really well done, probably because i made the instrumental for this one and was able to accommodate from both the vocals and instrumentals.
reverb is pretty glassy in my opinion.
i wish i'd chosen a better image, though. i think this was a picture i took of a streetlight near a grocery store, if i'm remembering correctly.
