After more than thirteen years of owning a @sawstop table saw, which includes a safety braking mechanism to prevent injuries, I finally set it off when I ran the metal fence of my @craftsman miter gauge into the blade. The safety mechanism worked perfectly, and while it didn't save me a digit in this case, it is good to know it is there in case I do something really stupid.
To keep myself from a repeat performance, I knew I needed to replace the fence with something non-conductive. Rather than do the easy thing and make it out of wood, I channeled JFK and 3-D printed it. Is it woodworking? You decide!
