Office of the President Builds Capacity of Security Heads in Acholi
The office of the president has enrolled all RDCs, their deputies, Assistants and DISOs for a two-day capacity building in Gulu City.
The initiative is to enhance the capacity of the RDCs to effectively monitor government programs as well as deliver on their mandates.

Officials from the office of the president have pitched camp in Gulu City to empower RDCs and DISOs from across districts in Acholi sub region to effectively deliver on their mandate.
The two-day capacity building is aimed at improving the quality of monitoring of government programs and to ensure effective service delivery to the citizens.
The RDCs also have a big role to play in fighting corruption in their districts. Recently there has been a number of complaints of corruption tendencies on the district service commissions who demand money from applicants
The RDCs also raised challenges associated with monitoring of hybrid projects, access to information and the fight against corruption.
Among the facilitators included the deputy director ISO Emmy Katabazi who presented elaborately on corruption as a source of insecurity. He warned security personnel against abetting corruption in their districts.
The secretariat also wants the RDCs to intervene on primary schools who continue to demand for money from vulnerable parents in UPE schools.
The RDCs are mandated to monitor government programs and ensure locals are protected and receiving services in their areas.
