This is based off the 1st season of ST:TNG. The year is not accurate with the ship, and this takes place during the "cool down" period between the Cardassians and the Federation after the Border Wars. A classic ship with over 100 years in service to the Federation is attacked and destroyed by a "Sona?" vessel. Starfleet, not knowing who the Sona are at this point in time, retaliate by dispatching the newly christened USS Enterprise NCC-1701 To help. Starfleet finds out the Cardassians supported this skirmish against the USS Koncordium. This is a pre-courser to actions taken during the Dominion War
