Emblem 7 details the tragedy of the Nord's utter defeat at Red Mountain in 1E 668, where they were convinced by Voryn Dagoth to attempt to reclaim the Heart of Lorkhan (or Shor). Jurgen Windcaller, at the time a prominent Nord Tongue and warrior, realized that he needed to isolate himself at the Throat of the World, the birthplace of the Voice, to meditate until he could determine why their seemingly righteous cause failed.

Emblem 8 reflects the philosophy of peace in the Way of the Voice that Jurgen came to after his 7 years of silent meditation. When he came to his kin around 1E 675 with his new philosophy of only using the Thu'um for worship and defense rather than offense and conquest, 17 prominent Nords attempted to contest him and his philosophy. He was able to defeat them all by simply swallowing their Shouts until they were exhausted and collapsed. Jurgen then founded High Hrothgar as a monastery for teaching the Way of the Voice to the faithful.

Delphine (one of the last remnants of The Blades, impatient and quick to reject the Greybeards' Way of the Voice and wishes to slay Paarthurnax for his crimes in the Merethic Era)

20:43 - Emblem IX (Tiber Septim & The Dragonborn Blessing)
For years all silent, the Greybeards spoke one name
Tiber Septim, stripling then, was summoned to Hrothgar
They blessed and named him Dovahkiin

Emblem 9 jumps ahead around two and a half thousand years to Tiber Septim's summoning to High Hrothgar, where it claims the Greybeards named him Dragonborn (a hotly debated subject, if you ask The Underking - for further elaboration, check out The Arcturian Heresy).

Emblem 10 distills the Way of the Voice into 3 core elements: use the Thu'um for worship rather than combat, work on yourself rather than focusing on what you think others could improve on, and if you have to use the Thu'um against someone else, only do so in defense.
