A Norwegian pop duo, M2M consists of Marit Larsen and Marion Raven who were friends since childhood. After releasing a children's song album in 1996, the band was picked up by Atlantic Records and released their debut single nationwide in 1999. They appeared on All That, Say What? Karaoke and had their own Disney Channel Original Concert alongside BBMAK. After the release of their second album led to disappointing sales, the duo returned to Norway and pursued solo careers.
Released in 2000, Shades of Purple received positive reviews and peaked at #7 in Norway and #89 in the US. Three singles were released.
