Every great Deep Purple album has a weakest link - even the classics. In this video, I go through all 22 studio albums from 1968 to 2024 and pick the least essential track from each one.
These aren't necessarily bad songs - they're just the first cuts I'd make if creating a "best of" version of each album. From the Mark I psychedelic era through the legendary Mark II classics, the funky Mark III period, the reunion years, and the modern Don Airey lineup - every album gets examined.
You'll definitely disagree with some of my picks (especially Machine Head and In Rock), and that's exactly the point. Drop your own choices in the comments - which songs would YOU cut from each album?
🎸 CONTROVERSIAL PICKS INCLUDE:
Machine Head's "Maybe I'm a Leo"
In Rock's "Into the Fire"
Burn's "What's Goin' On Here"
Perfect Strangers' "Under the Gun"
