Members of staff of the Makoanyane military hospital where the Lesotho army says former army commander Maaparankoe Mahao died will testify before the SADC Commission investigating his death on Tuesday. Commission Chairperson Judge Mphaphi Phumaphi made the announcement as he concluded proceedings on Monday.
Mahao's nephews who were with him when he was shot said his almost lifeless body was carried away by soldiers, but the army maintains he was alive when he arrived at the hospital.
