On Sunday, November 10, 2024 a group of Japanese American and Japanese Peruvian incarceration survivors and their descendants organizing as the Crystal City Pilgrimage Committee, came together with local residents of Crystal City Texas during the annual Spinach Festival to open the first permanent history museum dedicated to telling the stories of both the 1969 Chicano Movement walkouts and the World War II American concentration camp in Crystal City.
