Unexpected Turns in the San Rafael Swell

What do you do when Mother Nature throws a curveball? You adapt, soak up the sun, and make the best of it. Join me, my two girlfriends, and my adventurous pups as we set out to backpack Utah's Little Grand Canyon in the San Rafael Swell. With the river running higher than expected, our planned route hit a dead end on day two. Instead of pushing it, we embraced a slower pace—relaxing, exploring, and enjoying an unexpected rest day in one of the most stunning backcountry spots around. It wasn’t the trip we planned, but maybe it was exactly what we needed.
