Welcome to the inaugral episode of Dyepot Weekly! I wanted to make some speckled yarn by sprinkling dry Kool-Aid onto yarn.
First, we kettle dyed some bare stroll fingering yarn 75% superwash merino/ 25% nylon http://shrsl.com/kp27 (KnitPicks Affiliate Link) and some worsted weight 100% wool http://shrsl.com/k9c0 (Affiliate Link) with some squeeze bottles of Kool-Aid. Next, we used a tea strainer to sprinkle dry Kool-Aid powder onto the wet yarn to create some awesome speckles. Watch more to find out how we did this!
