Best Lap of The Year! Khyber Pass On a Pow Day

March 11th was absolutely insane. We were at the tail end of a massive storm cycle and Peak Chair had not been open for 3 days. I waited in line for 2.5 hours before it finally cracked. I was second chair up, and probably first into my favourite forested run: Khyber Pass.

What can I say? The conditions were immaculate. Super deep, thigh high snow, through the most serene, deeply wooded powder paradise that you could imagine. This is the apex of what we here would call "soul riding"- just beautiful cruising through the woods (it's good for your soul).

I was cruising on my Gentemstick Superfish- which was perfect for these conditions. It allows me to traverse lower angle sections much better than someone on a normal board, due to its swallow tail shape and huge surface area to distribute weight on.

The first lap almost left me crying. It felt so amazing to get that lap absolutely untouched and to myself. This is me at my most affirmed. Laps like these are what I came to Earth for...
