Summer Trout? - Green Valley Lake Fishing - 4th of July 2022

First time at Green Valley Lake.

Wanted to switch things up and seek out some trout! Unfortunately it's the trout season is over down where I live and the weather is just too hot. I decided to drive an hour and a half up into the mountains where the weather is much cooler and where they're still stocking trout.

Got to the late at 6:00am and fishing was slow overall. Hooked one trout on the first cast on Power Bait, but farmed him just as he got to the thick green algae. Was able to get one trout around 11:00am. There were 3 trout caught around me the entire day, along with some small bluegill and crappie.

No regrets making the drive out. It was nice not getting the 🦨, but I really enjoyed that lake and will definitely be back. I highly recommend giving this lake a try if you want to get away from the heat and fish for some trout.
