Route: west on Apache Blvd., north on Mill Avenue and driving by Arizona State University, west on Van Buren St., north on 24th St., west on Thomas Rd., north on 3rd St. then west on Osborn Rd.
From the 1930's to the early 1970's Van Buren St. was the eastern gateway to Phoenix. That was because Van Buren served as the confluence for U.S. Highways 60, 70, 80 and 89 which were major highways for cross country travelers. It was Phoenix's vibrant "Funset Strip," a bustling tourist corridor filled with iconic neon-lit motels, restaurants, and entertainment.
