Plenty of track time testing on Saturday around another circuit with quite a few tight turns. Sam's body held up apart from a very sore elbow by the end of the day.

With more karts on the circuit on race day, we found our test day times weren't that far of.

Cracking start to Heat 1, by lap1 he moved from P3 to P1, held that position until a few laps from the end were we had no chance against a very fast Melissa, managed to finish P2. Seems the seat was a tad loose after that session and Sam's elbow was getting rather painful again.

Applied some make shift padding to Sam's elbow for the start of Heat 2, which helped a lot. Started the session good, up to P3 from P4 after lap 1, then the axle moved - causing brake issues! kept on going but slowly dropped back to P6.

Another good start from P7 in heat 3, saw Sam make up a few places over the session. Good clean battle with kart no.5 on the last few laps but just couldn't keep onto P5, finish P6.

Sam had some grit in his eye from Heat 3, very painful - went to see the medic minutes before the final was about to start who tried to flush it out but still the pain was there. Good achievement for the final to start P4 (outside line). Looked a good start again from Sam but was loaded into the first corner forcing him off the track. Came back on track in P7, where he was behind a few slower drivers. Gained a place back and was battling with no.55 for awhile before they unfortunately lost drive from a broken chain but took Sam off the track with them, causing Sam to loose the place he'd gained back early to finish P6.

Sam's fitness is quickly returning and showing potential with limited track time, at circuits he's not been to before.

We continue visiting circuits we've not been to before, next on our travels will me 'Official' Bayford Meadows Kart Circuit on 15th June.
