US trade tariffs: Singapore needs to be prepared for a more troubled world, says SM Lee

Singapore Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong has stressed that the current crisis brought about by an ongoing trade war differs from previous ones, as the global system has shifted and no longer promotes fair competition. Sweeping tariffs by United States President Donald Trump have disrupted trade and supply chains, and Mr Lee says this may lead to a global recession. Speaking to union leaders, he says that even though Singapore is prepared, the nation must be ready to face a more troubled world. CNA's Richa Mathew reports.
