The county of Kent, which lies in the very south-eastern part of England, is often referred to as the Garden of England. It refers to the fact that Kent has traditionally been dominated by agriculture. This is why Kent is home to many orchards, as well as hop fields. Kent is also home to many of the most beautiful country parks in the south, such as Sissinghurst and the gardens around one of the country's most beautiful castles, Leeds Castle.
Kent borders the counties of East Sussex, Surrey and Essex as well as Greater London. The Kent coast borders the North Sea and, of course, the English Channel and the Strait of Dover to the south. Kent is connected to mainland Europe via the Eurotunnel.
