Proposed directions to embark on to alleviate the challenges the US healthcare system faces, include privatizing medicine; allowing for industry and the free-enterprise model to meet the demands of solving present-day problems. Reflecting on this matter of policy and public health, through the lens of Taoist texts; suggest that it is not a new debate and that the case that more government intervention is not productive has a long history.
