So, somehow I had never played Frostpunk until last week. I know, right? Anyway, it’s not your typical Halloween fare, but social horror is pretty scary, right? And amputations? I dunno, you tell me. So, anyway, here’s a Frostpunk ASMR.

This is basically a medical ASMR roleplay, but set in the harsh winter wasteland of the Frostpunk universe, where modern medicine is still in its infancy (which is ironic given how many infants the Victorians had workin’ and dyin’ for ‘em, bad dum tsh). You’ve been working a shift in a coal thumper, and, big surprise, you’ve got frostbite – so, you’re gonna have to lose the leg. Sorry.

I spent a lot of time trying to get the atmosphere right, so I did a set dressing, which I don’t usually do. I made the glow worm thing too! In real life, it’s bright green. I hope the overall immersion evokes the feeling of being cold and desperate, because that’s how I feel trying to get a platinum trophy for the damned game. I mean, come on! Anyway, fair warning, while there is no blood in this, there’s lots of swearing, some needles, and a dose of reasonably unpleasant sawing and amputation sounds. Enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧

ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds – just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos – but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.
