392 Charger Takes GSP On High Speed Chase Through Atlanta | Can't Outrun The Chopper

Trooper's Narrative:

On March 6, 2020 I was on patrol in Fulton County. I was traveling eastbound on
Edgewood Avenue near Boulevard where I located a BOLO Dodge Charger that
had fled from multiple agencies. I activated my emergency equipment and
attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver fled.
I notified Troop C Communications of the pursuit as we traveled eastbound on Edgewood Avenue at a high rate of speed. I pursued the vehicle eastbound on
Edgewood Avenue to Hurt Street where we traveled south and turned eastbound
on Dekalb Avenue. We continued eastbound on Dekalb Avenue to Whiteford
Avenue. We traveled southbound on Whiteford Avenue with the subject failing to
stop for multiple stop signs and traveling in excess of double the posted speed
limit. I lost contact with the vehicle as we approached Memorial Drive where SGT
Allen located the car and continued the pursuit. I discontinued pursuit as SGT Allen
pursued and lost contact with the Dodge. Atlanta PD Phoneix maintained visual of
the vehicle as he traveled back westbound on I-20 and exited onto Boulevard and
traveled south.
I parallelled the vehicle as APD Phoneix relayed the location. The driver made his
way to 1038 Washington Street and parked the vehicle in the rear of the complex
and exited on foot walking back through the complex. I made contact with the
driver who was identified as Deanthonnie Lewis and drew my firearm ordering the
driver to the ground. Mr. Lewis was taken into custody without further incident.
South Metro wrecker removed the Dodge and Mr. Lewis was transported to Fulton
County jail where he was released to intake personnel.
