Aérospatiale-BAC Concorde is a partnership of the British and French governments.
Concorde was the most successful commercial supersonic airliner ever in service, (the other being the Tupolev Tu-144).
First flown in 1969, Concorde entered service in 1976 and had an operational life of 27 years. It regularly flies routes from London Heathrow (British Airways) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (Air France) to New York JFK.
This aircraft set many records, including a flight time of 2 hours, 52 minutes and 59 seconds between New York and London, February 7, 1996.
Concorde's low-cost development phase caused the British and French governments to suffer a lot of economic damage, although during most of its operation it also brought significant profits to British Airways. Commercial flights by British Airways and Air France began on January 21, 1976.
Because of the single accident (in 2000) and the terrorist attack missions of September 11, 2001 and many other factors, Concorde was placed in continuous operation on October 24, 2003, the "return" flight. retirement" forum on November 26 of that year.
Although discontinued, Concorde is still an icon in aviation history.
