With over 77,000 inhabitants, Troisdorf is the biggest city in the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis (Rhein-Sieg district) and is divided into 12 urban areas.
For over 30 years, a parliament for foreign nationals has given foreigners living in Troisdorf an opportunity to exert an influence in local politics. People from over 100 nations live here. Troisdorf now has eight partner towns.
Troisdorf lies directly on the A59, which links Cologne and Bonn. A large section of Cologne/Bonn Airport lies in the Troisdorf urban area. Troisdorf's location and transport links, together with the work done by TROWISTA , Troisdorfer Wirtschaftsförderungs- und Stadtmarketing GmbH (Troisdorf Business Development and Town Marketing), are key factors in the city's status as one of the leading economic centres in the Rhineland.
