This video shares the story of Jack and Erica who both retired after working 40 years to find out that Erica has no credit of her own and is not a member of the credit union where her and Jack share joint accounts. The video recounts the stress of finding this out at a point where Erica has no earned income. Jack and Erica made this discovery prompted by a You Tube video by Norm and Tina on @ThisIsOurRetirement sharing a similar experience they had. Our video is equal parts a thank you to Norm and Tina and a cautionary tale for joint owners of bank accounts and credit cards. To prevent this from occurring, joint owners of accounts should maintain multiple accounts where each have primary account holder standing.
