Noted Freethinker and Author Ravichandran C here addressing the students of of Government Law College, Thrissur, Kerala, India. This seminar was conducted by Dr AT Markose Chair for Advanced Legal Studies on 11.3.16 at 10 am at the College. The seminar topic was 'Decoding the Directive Principles?''. Ravichandran explaining the basic tenets of DPSP in the constitution of India went on to analyse the hard core implication of the same in the backdrop of history of law making in India. The proposed ban of Cow slaughter(art 48), Uniform Civil code (art 44) and the controversial constitutional amendment during Mrs Indira Gandhi's time which placed the DPSP above Fundamental rights were subjected to deeper scrutiny. The presentation was followed by one hour absorbing interaction with the participants. Watch the speaker negotiating some very relevant question in the end from legal and scientific point of views.
