STOCKHOLM - part 3 Ostermalm, Djurgarden, Vasa Museum and Skansen

In this third part I will take you with me to discover the island of Ostermalm, a predominantly residential neighborhood but which offers several interesting ideas for those who visit it.
The famous Saluhall, for example, the most famous market in Stockholm is a must for those who want to stop and taste the local delicacies. Everything is of the highest quality.
On the edge of the island of Ostermalm is the famous Nybroplan square, where you can take ferries to visit the beautiful Stockholm archipelago.
In this area is the Dramaten, the splendid Royal Dramatic Theater, dating back to 1908, which is striking for its beautiful Art Nouveau facade.
Nearby, you can stop at Berzelii Park, after visiting the Stara Synagogan, the Great Synagogue and the memorial installation dedicated to Raoul Wallenberg, the engineer who helped many Budapest Jews to save themselves during the Second World War. A small cobbled path will lead you right to the Synagogue, which unfortunately we found closed.
The beautiful Skeppsholmsbron bridge, with its much-photographed golden crowns, leads to the island of Skeppsholmen, but not before admiring the fascinating panorama of Gamla Stan right in front.
Then we will visit the island of Djurgarden, crossing the bridge of the same name, very elegant with its granite columns and statues dedicated to the Nordic deities. A nice walk in the adjacent park, crossing the beautiful Blue Gate is certainly not to be missed, for a bit of rest and tranquility. On the island of Djurgarden there are numerous museums that are worth a visit. We chose the Vasa Museum to admire the famous and truly impressive Swedish galleon from 1700 that sank during its maiden voyage. Brought back to light and restored in the sixties, today it shows off all its grandeur and beauty. I highly recommend you visit this Museum. You won't be disappointed.
And how could you not end a visit to the island of Djurgarden if not at Skansen? It was opened in 1891 and is the oldest open-air Museum. A unique place, where you will find many Nordic animals and over 150 farms and houses that were dismantled and then reassembled right here to recreate rural life in Sweden. Children will have a lot of fun, but not only!!
This is also an unmissable place in Stockholm, a city that offers so much to its visitors and that certainly remains in the heart.
