Here you can see how Fritz uses his western grip forehand to hit clean winners and construct points.
Fritz has very identifiable strokes and is most commonly known for his extreme forehand grip and powerful serve.
The western forehand grip is not used by many players as it is difficult to get penetration and power through the court with the high upwards swing it requires to be hit with. Taylor Fritz is a perfect example of a player who can play well with the western forehand grip! He rotates his torso to get the power while still maintaining a low to high swing path where many would swing across their body which would reduce consistency.
