The Conservatives say they want to crack down on access to the Motability scheme, which gives disabled people cars through the benefits system.
Under the plan, the rules for getting the enhanced rate of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) would be tightened — meaning people with conditions like ADHD, mild depression, or anxiety would no longer qualify.
Right now, you can get the higher rate if you need extra help getting around. That covers not just physically moving but also being able to plan a journey, follow a route, or even manage to leave your home, according to government guidelines.
