Freediving a I1 Japanese Submarine wreck from WWII on the island of Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands. Unfortunately we didn't spend too long at this dive site as we weren't comfortable being so far out, plus local boat traffic across the dive site was concerning, however we still managed to get a few clips.
The wreck is a 200m swim from the beach, and local from the nearby village of Tambea paddled out in his kayak to show us the location. The submarine is quite broken up, particularly at the bow where explosives where used in a salvage operation in the 1960s, which caused a still live torpedo to explode. The wreck sits at 5 to 25m.
