関東大震災による焼失からの復興を遂げた東京・日本橋の三井本館の竣工を記念し、1929年6月15日に開催された開館式の様子から、館内の諸設備、金庫室、営業窓口などが隈なく紹介されている。映画後半では、三井鑛山株式會社社内の様子がカメラに収められている。三井本館は、1998年12月25日に国重要文化財に指定されている。

「フィルムは記録する ―国立映画アーカイブ歴史映像ポータル―」では、日露戦争の記録、文部省が推進した科学やスポーツ、観光などを扱う教育映画、行政や企業による産業や地方振興のPR映画、皇室行事や軍事演習の記録など、題材も撮影場所も多彩な87作品を、初回分として一挙公開しています。今後も随時公開作品を増やしていく予定です。ぜひサイトをお訪ねください。

The first edition of this site presents 87 titles featuring a variety of topics and shooting locations. The selection includes documentaries of the Russo-Japanese War, educational films focusing on science, sports and tourism produced by the Ministry of Education, industrial and regional promotional films produced by local governments and corporations, and rich footage of imperial events and military exercises.
