Practice-based Filmmaking & Supervision at HE Level | Murat Akser
This keynote presentation was delivered as part of the Practice Research Assembly: 'It's alive! The search for form' held online on 29 September 2021. The presentation was introduced and chaired by Dr Lucy Fife Donaldson, Senior Lecturer at the University of St. Andrews whose research focuses on the materiality of style and the body in popular film and television.
Murat Akser is an award-winning filmmaker and a Lecturer in Cinematic Arts, Ulster University. He received his MA degree in Cinema and Media Studies and PhD in Communication and Culture from York University. Murat's research focuses on history and aesthetics of independent filmmaking, emerging film genres and migrant/diasporic/transnational cinemas.
