Chitral Gol National Park & Birmoghlasht Fort | Exploring the Meadows of Chitral | Part 4 | Stroy 44

In this episode, we continue our journey from Chitral Town where we stayed with my school-time friend Mr. Sheraz in Balach. From his home, perched high above the valley, we enjoyed breathtaking views of Chitral Town and the Chitral River. After breakfast, Sheraz dropped us at the entrance of Chitral Gol National Park, also known as Birmoghlasht.

We explored the second point of the park — the historic Birmoghlasht Fort, built by Shuja ul-Mulk in 1910, which once served as the Mehtar’s summer palace. From here, the views of Terichmir Peak and Chitral Valley are truly mesmerizing. Our journey continued through lush green meadows to Junali (9500 ft), famous for its camping spots, and finally to Chaghbini (the highest point of the park) where we spotted Markhor through binoculars.

On the way, we visited the legendary Bada Chorh Rogh (ancient tree) and reflected on the importance of forests and climate change. Later, at Junali, we had black tea in the scenic meadow and were surprised by a visit from Ammar Biker, making the moment even more memorable.

Finally, we rode back to Chitral Town and continued our adventure towards Kalash Valley, where we spent the night. The magic of Kalash will be revealed in the next and final part of this series. Stay tuned!
