How To Use Standing Still To Get Better Unity With Your Horse

It’s the little things that make a big difference. If your horse doesn’t understand how to wait for instruction from you, then he is not on the same train of thought as you. This is the opposite of what we need to achieve unity with our horses. If a horse can’t be still (mentally and physically), it’s unfair to expect him to wait on your instruction for any other exercise. In this video, I’m going to show you how to begin teaching your horse to have the same thoughts that you’re having by teaching him to stand still.

When you’re working on this, you’re also working on your horse’s mental soundness. I developed a list that will tell you if your horse is where he needs to be mentally.
