Milkydaddy is a band formed in London by David Wojciechowski (synthesizer, keys), Leopold Põldma (guitar, bass, tape looping), Victor Fritzsche (drums, guitar) and Torahiko Inoue (synthesizer, programming) in 1983. They released a few albums through the mid-late 80s, including their debut, Milkcart, in June of 1984. Their sound could be described as Jazz Fusion with a toy-like flavour.
This song was written primarily by Leopold and Victor and was recorded in early 1984 in Kyoto. It featured gear such as the TR-808, the Polymoog, the MC-4 and the Harimau-09. Torahiko was in charge of programming, while David played the electric piano and most of the synth layers. Leopold Played both bass and guitar and Victor the drums. After each recording session they all would eat a lot of fish.
The logo and graphics were designed by Noboru Kawai who would be later known for his manga series Nobonobo Tanukino Monogatari. They're still close friends with Wojciechowski and Inoue. Kawai's wrestling stage name Nikuman comes from the album's mascot Niku the salamander, also known as The Meatboy.
Milkcart would be released both in the UK and in Japan, under Blockyeen Records and its Japanese affiliate Starkit Records. This release did not sell very well in the UK but had minor success in Japan. The record is somewhat cheap despite its rarity.
