ThingWorx Performance & Health Monitoring - Overview

This lengthy overview is somewhat of an expert session on monitoring principles of a ThingWorx solution. It is inspired from the work and approaches of monitoring ThingWorx with Grafana, and the online help guidance on performance troubleshooting with VisualVM.

If you are developing or deploying a production ThingWorx environment; you should be leveraging all or some of the approaches in order to:

 • Benchmark/baseline performance, resource usage, application behaviour
 • Measure resource impact of application design and code changes over time
 • Safely scale out your solution to more sites/assets while tracking application performance
 • Quickly determine when and where something went wrong, speeding issue resolution
