世界が、音を失っていた。
空は裂け、大地は燃え、海は逆巻く。
神々の消えた空の下、ただ一つの影が立っていた。

黒き剣の英雄――ラヴェス。
その身体を、漆黒の光が覆っていく。
翼が崩れ、形を失い、無数の闇の腕が空を掴む。

「……やめろ、ラヴェス！」

リオンの叫びは届かなかった。
彼の中で何かが軋み、崩れていく音がした。

「ラヴェスはもういない。」

声が響く。
それは彼の声であり、同時に全ての“闇”の声だった。

「神々が築いた牢を壊すため、彼は我を選んだ。
そして、我が代わりに世界を滅ぼす。」

闇が咆哮した。
一瞬で空が夜に変わり、地平線が反転する。
光そのものが、恐怖に飲まれていく。

「くそっ、退け！」
ガレスの叫びも虚しく、仲間たちは次々に倒れた。
魔法は砕かれ、祈りは届かず、
リオンの盾でさえ、ひびを刻まれていく。

「……これが、魔神の力なのか。」

膝をつきながら、リオンは歯を食いしばる。
「それでも、ここで終われるか。」

セラの手が、彼の肩に触れた。
震える声で祈りを紡ぐ。

「まだ……希望は、消えていません。」

魔神の声が笑う。

「希望？　それは最も甘い絶望だ。
お前たちは何度、祈りに裏切られた？」

リオンは立ち上がった。
盾を掲げ、仲間の方を振り返る。

「俺たちは何度倒れても、立ち上がる。
それが、“人間”の誓いだ！」

光が弾ける。
盾の奥に、淡い命の光が宿る。
それは、神々の消滅の中で残った、わずかな“命の火”。

「……リオン。
それは、命の女神の光……！」

ミレナの声が震える。

リオンは目を閉じ、静かに息を吸い込んだ。
「この命に、すべてを賭ける。」

世界が再び轟く。
魔神の咆哮が空を割り、闇の腕が襲いかかる。
だが、その瞬間――盾が光を放った。

「Everfall……Aegis。」

世界が止まり、
次の瞬間、光が闇を切り裂いた。

The world had fallen silent.
The sky was torn, the earth burned, the seas raged.
Beneath a godless heaven stood one figure—

Laves, the Dark Hero.
Black light consumed him.
His wings decayed, his body twisted,
and countless arms of shadow reached for the heavens.

“…Stop, Laves!”

Leon’s voice did not reach him.
Something within that body cracked—
the sound of a soul collapsing.

“Laves is gone.”

The voice was his, yet not his.
It was the voice of darkness itself.

“To shatter the cage the gods made, he chose me.
Now he will end the world in my stead.”

The world roared.
Night devoured the sky; the horizon turned upside down.
Even light itself began to tremble.

“Fall back!”
Gareth shouted, but it was useless.
Their magic broke. Their prayers failed.
Even Leon’s shield began to fracture.

“…So this is the power of the Demon God.”

Leon knelt, gritting his teeth.
“Even so… I won’t let it end here.”

Sera placed her trembling hand on his shoulder, whispering a prayer.

“Hope… still remains.”

The Demon’s laughter echoed across the void.

“Hope? The sweetest form of despair.
How many times has prayer betrayed you?”

Leon rose again.
He raised his shield and turned to his companions.

“Then we’ll keep standing.
That’s what it means to be human!”

Light burst forth.
Within the shield, a faint spark glowed—
the final ember of life left behind by the dying gods.

“Leon… that light—it’s from the Goddess of Life!”

Milena’s voice trembled.

Leon closed his eyes and drew a deep breath.
“Then I’ll stake this life on it.”

The world shuddered again.
The Demon roared, rending the heavens,
as his arms of darkness surged forward.

But in that instant—Leon’s shield blazed with light.

“Everfall… Aegis.”

The world stopped.
And in that frozen moment,
light tore through the dark.
