Why I LEFT Vietnam after just 48 hours in Da Nang and flew to Thailand! Despite my love for Vietnam, sometimes intuition tells you when a place just isn't right for that moment. After battling constant rain along Vietnam's central coast and feeling overwhelmed by Da Nang's competitive rental market, I made the spontaneous (and expensive!) decision to fly to Hua Hin, Thailand.

In this video, I explain my honest first impressions of both locations - from Da Nang's popular expat areas that felt disconnected from local life to discovering the perfect side of Hua Hin beyond the tourist strip. I'll show you our comfortable apartment at The Room Residence and take you to my favorite local market where delicious Thai meals cost just 30 baht!

Don't worry, Vietnam lovers - I'm not giving up on Da Nang! We'll be returning in April to properly explore and showcase central Vietnam's beautiful beaches and fantastic seafood. But for now, Hua Hin's peaceful energy, affordable living, and wonderful local connections make it the perfect 5-week home base for digital nomads seeking authentic Thai experiences away from the crowds.
