When working on the XPC-360 project someone on social media made the suggestion of adding an external graphics card to boost the systems performance. I never actually got around to building it but I did do some research and bought some parts to play with later.
One of those parts was a USB 3.0 PCI-E riser and since buying it I have wanted to know if you would actually see any performance hits by using one, so I have decided to give it a quick test and the results were quite surprising.
