What I Do In Antarctica - McMurdo Edition!

Finally, I answer one of the most common questions that I get about my time here on the Ice: what do I do down here for work!? My official job title at McMurdo was Fuels Operator, but with all the slang that exists around the station, we just went by “fuelie.” What does this mean? Well basically we are in charge of operating and maintaining the entire fuel system at McMurdo Station! Check out the video for more details! 🙌🛢

I am currently living and working at the South Pole Station through the United States Antarctic Program. I am not down here as a filmmaker or photographer, but instead work in the Logistics and Supply department. All of these videos are being made during my free time and not during working hours. We are very busy down here keeping the station running at maximum efficiency, but I have managed to find some free time to make these short movies!
